Safety Tips for Fun Spring Grilling

Your trusted propane grill powers up your springtime grilling fun, so go ahead and bring on the sizzle!

Like indoor gas ranges, propane grills provide instant on-off convenience and precision temperature control for perfectly done meals every time. Cleanup is a breeze too, with no smelly and messy coals, ash or soot to deal with.

Here at Paraco, where safety is always front and center, we want to remind our customers of these smart grilling safety tips to help make each grilling experience enjoyable and safe.

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Make your propane grill manufacturer’s instructions your primary resource for safe grilling, whether for assembly, use, maintenance, cleaning or storage.

Place your grill in a safe location. Grills should be kept outdoors, at least 5 feet from the house, and always be on a level surface clear of outdoor furniture, overhead trees, brush, or other possible fire hazards.

Check for leaks. A soapy water solution is great to check your grill’s connections. Expanding bubbles indicate a leak. Check the valve connections and hoses to be sure they are in good working order. Perform this check each time you replace a cylinder.

Follows the manufacturer’s lighting instructions. As with all grill models, keep the lid open and never lean over the grill when lighting it. In the event your flame goes out and you must relight your grill, make sure to turn off the gas and refer to your owner’s manual for further instruction. At a minimum and with all grill models, keep the lid open and wait at least 15 minutes before relighting.

Always be present! Never leave your grill unattended while it is in use.

We hope you find these safety tips helpful.

Happy Grilling!
